Bruised Not Broken

Get comfortable with the rhythm of your new heartbeat.
You may be bruised but your not broken!

Dear Friend,

Event after event hits you like lashes from the worst game of dodge ball. Leaving scars on your heart and invisible open wounds.

Yet, you still stand.

Getting up and dusting yourself off again.

Tears link from your eyes when they shut as you do your best to rest. Your heart aches as you wake to acknowledge you can’t seem to catch a break.

Yet, you focus on the things you can control and keep it moving.

Embracing the storm and all the damage that comes with it. Hits from left to right leaving you covered in bruises.

Yet, you still stand.

Getting up and dusting yourself off again.

You may be bruised but you’re certainly not broken. Inhale positivity and exhale doubt. Let your tears release you from your fears.

Let today’s pain be a lesson for tomorrow’s blessing. You have survived the storm!

Now it’s time to conquer the aftermath. Your wounds are real and your hurt is valid. Give yourself grace. Tomorrow will be a new day and an opportunity to start over.

You may be bruised but you are definitely not broken!

Love,

Your True Friend
